We are a family run business of 3rd generation butchers, bakers and yes we even have a candlestick maker in our family tree! We have been running Deli Belge in Sowerby Bridge over the last few year, and Craggies is our new venture (we still have Deli Belge too).

Our website is just being built, but in the mean time……….

Our Hill Top Cafe, Butchery & Deli looks across the stunning Pennine landscape, with a magnificent view of Stoodley Pike (we’ve even reflected that in our logo). It’s on the road out of Cragg Vale towards the turn off to Ripponden & Rochdale.

We have an on-site butchery, and all our meat is sourced locally. Our beef, lamb and mutton is reared on the local hillsides, and typically will have only travelled 6 miles in it’s life before it arrives at our place! We believe strongly in the welfare of the animals, and only work with farmers that we know well.

Our cafe serves fresh, hearty food, with our cakes baked by us on site by the very talented Sarah, and with beautiful breads delivered daily by Blue Sky Bakery of Hebden Bridge. Click on our menu in the header for a look at what we serve.

Our reason for being is that we love food, love the area we live & work in and believe that when we support other local farmers, growers, manufacturers and makers, the place we live in thrives.

So come and say hello, ask us about some of the tastiest meat you will find in the whole region, sit and have a coffee, admire the view and browse our farm shop and local produce.

We look forward to seeing you.

Andrea, Tom, Sarah & The Craggies Team

Introduced roughly 10 years since into Cragg Vale they're now a booming population, imported from the highlands of Scotland they're rarely seen creature but luckily we managed to get a few of the older end. You know what that means? Haggis is available at Craggies now!! ... See MoreSee Less

VEAL- Beautifully tender and rich in flavour and high in protein. Primarily, veal is a by-product of the dairy industry.
So in order for us to enjoy milk, cheese, ice cream and all our other favourite dairy products, we need to responsibly utilise the male born dairy calves, in order for British dairy farmers to survive.
Producing veal has massively increased the welfare of these calves, as the animals are now carefully monitored to produce the beautifully developed carcasses we have today.

Back British farming and eat veal, it's definitely worth celebrating!
